On the top shelf in the far right corner you'll find a bag filled with bed linen and another filled with curtains. On the immediately left (see the picture below) you'll find all of our surplus and unopened hygiene items.
On the shelf beneath the hygiene shelf you'll find the hygiene items that are open and in use. I am also using this shelf to store surplus household items such as laundry detergent ingredients, air freshener and dish soap.
The next shelf is for hair care and bathroom tissue. I use a medium sized rectangular basket to keep these items neat and organized. I use a plastic peanut butter jar to hold combs. Another rectangular compartment is inside of the basket to keep bulky items such as brushes and the flat iron organized. Shampoo and conditioner are in the rear of the basket while beads are stored in ziploc bags nestled inside the basket.
The next shelf is the shelf for linen and towels. Only my husband and I keep our towels in this closet. We have two each and 7 wash clothes each. There is always one towel in the bathroom and one in the closet. Towels are washed every other day along with dish clothes, dish towels and any unplanned bed linen washes. To the right of the towels are baby blankets for the children to use while watching television on the couch.
The final shelf is for my shoes, sneakers and sandals. This area holds 12 size 7 1/2 shoe boxes.
On the floor beneath the shelves are where my husband stores all of his non-work shoes and sneakers. With a a size 13 foot he can only store about 6 boxes or as you can see three pairs of shoes and one sneaker box. It was so much fun organizing this closet to make the best possible use of space. Be sure to come back tomorrow. I'll share with you how I organize my kitchen cabinets.

You can eve use a recorded when you are away from your computer and then download your recorded word onto your computer later. This is so mid blowing for me because I cannot type fast. I type about 35 WPM and it takes quite a bit of time to get my posts typed, edited and published.

We are getting together with friends of ours from Sunday School class this Saturday. We have a class Christmas party every year. Each year someone volunteers to host the party at their home.
We all make a dessert or appetizer to bring. This year I thought it would be fun to bring the questions listed below as sort of a conversation starter.
I found them Luara's blog. There is usually not a shortage of conversations but I think it'd be fun to hear everyone's responses. I'd love to hear your responses as well.

3. When do you take the tree down? ... first week of January
4. How do you like your eggnog? .... non-alcohol

I would say that I am a traditional kind of girl but if you were to ask my husband he would tell you that I know nothing about tradition. We go back and forth regarding where we will spend Christmas. I want to travel, yet he wants to gather together with family. He thinks that my ideas are unorthodox where as I believe that the holiday is wherever you are. I have presented many holiday trip ideas to him in the past but I have yet to convince him of the benefits of spending the holiday at a resort.
Holidays can be a stressful time. Their is lots of grocery shopping, cooking, organizing, clean-up and socializing. I can accept the organizing and socializing it's just the others that wear me out.
This year my ideas were shot down yet again but I'd like to take a moment to share my dream holiday with you all. At least here my desires won't fall on deaf ears.
The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing would be a great destination for the Christmas holiday. They have a Magic of Christmas Package that includes tickets to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Christmas Show, discount coupon book for shopping on Branson Landing, and breakfast the following morning at Liberty Tavern. I am more into relaxing during the holiday, so the spa available at the hotel would be my first destination. A few hours in the hot tub and then dinner at a local restaurant.
And for a backup just in case the Promanade is booked there is the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Their suites include either king or double queen ''Serenity Beds'' with the Serta Suite Dreams Mattress. If you do not have a Serta mattress this would be the perfect time to try one out. The rooms include spacious sitting areas with sleeper sofas, a dining area, a kitchen with a refrigerator, a range, a wet bar, flat panel televisions, a large well lit work desk with high-speed internet access so I can keep my blog up to date.
Who would turn down a well planned vacation like this besides my husband?
We have been visiting with our family and friends. We have been shopping for last minute gifts. We have been to an unexpected funeral and our home had begun to revealed all of the tell tale signs. I have been given some interior decorating items by my wonderful mother in love and some clothes, purses and accessories by one of my good friends.
When I came home last night I thought of one of Tyler Perry's actors from the Medea's movies. The one that I'm referring to is Mr. Brown. He has a famous sayings that came to my mind when I looked at my home.
In the wise words of Mr.Brown...."I said to myself..."self?" and self replied..."huh?"
That's when I told self that we needed to get this house cleaned up ASAP.

Well I baked it in the oven and sliced and diced it into dinner sized portions. The diced ham will be used throughout January for ham fried rice and diced ham with salad.
The sliced portions will be used for ham and egg biscuits and dinner meals such as Sliced honey baked ham, steamed rice and black eyed peas.
The bone from the ham was the perfect resource for seasoning the beans.
Steamed Rice
Black Eyed Peas
Dinner will be cooked before 8 A.M.

Hello there,

Many companies are turning to small business loans these days in an effort to keep their doors open. Over the past year, there has been a flurry of announcements from retailers that they are either closing stores, slowing expansion plans or ceasing operations altogether.
We have recently seen how the big three automakers General Motors, Ford and Chrysler have been affected by the downturn in the economy and what they intend to do. They are now scratching and clawing for a government funded loan (bailout) to keep the doors open and the sinking business afloat.
As a wife of a self employed husband and prior small business owner, I can understand the burden that is involved with trying to keep a business going. Some people are turning to loans and many are restructuring their businesses. On-line sales companies in attempt to get more business are implementing credit processing ability.
Right now smart consumers and business owners are taking an evaluation of their lives and businesses to see what if anything can be done to help them survive these economic times. Restructuring will be a very fundamental tool in the difference between those who sink or swim.
I purchased all 16 of these items for a grand total of $4.14 after sales and coupons. Without sales and coupons my total would have been $39.62 I saved a grand total of $35.48

I have not been participating in many meme's this month since time and holiday obligations hadn't permitted. However I wanted to take a moment to share a few items from my home that have been very pleasing to my eye this month.
First are the crochet dishcloths that I began making as a result of the Blogger Craft Club. I have had fits and starts all throughout the year and settled in on making quick and easy crafts.
Now I'd like to share an area of my home that is very relaxing for me. This table sits beside a glider that I have had since the birth of 8 year old son. I sit here while I read, sip tea or crochet. This next picture is my dining room table. I normally use a cake dish filled with some fresh baked sweet, as a centerpiece. However, decided to replace it with a gift that I received from my neighbor last year.
BEFORE
She gave me this sparkly reindeer pulling a sled at the time when she gave me this soap dispenser.
AFTER
His tiny legs are arched making him appear to be in motion.
I filled his little sled with unripened tomatoes from my summer garden. They will change from green to read as the holiday progresses. What a sight to behold.
You can see one already beginning to turn red.
The reindeer sled is flanked by a gold pillar candle on either side. I also added a glass vase filled with fall and Christmas foliage. I tied a satin and tulle ribbon around the vase and added artificial flowers around the base of the golden pillar candles.
Everything is nestled atop a place mat featuring a Cherubim gazing toward the heavens. This would also look especially nice with some white batting or cotton to act as snow.
