Spiritual Warfare

1 Corinthians 9:26-27

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

This is a passage of scripture intended to encourage warriors. Oh...did you not know that a warrior is one of your duties as a woman of God?

Yes, you are a warrior...one who is willing and able to do battle. However "we fight not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness of this world and against spiritual wickedness in high places".-Ephesians 6:11-12

In other words our battle is against satan. Satan wants to steal your hope, your joy, your peace and your salvation amongst many other blessings given to you of God.

Not only does satan desire to take from you, he also wants to destroy you, but God in His infinite wisdom has already made a way of escape. -Luke 22:31-32, I Corinthians 10:13

Paul uses the phrase "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection" as a way of describing rigorous training and discipling of the flesh. The spirit can be willing yet the body weak which is why we must study the word of God daily. In order for us to win any battle in our lives we must be prepared for spiritual warfare. The only way to be prepared is to be equipped with the word of God.

One of the most powerful weapons a women of God can posses is faith in HIS word. When satan tries to burden you down with financial woes, speak the word of God. As a result your outlook on the situation should improve. If it does not than you must consider whether or not you believe that God is able to perfrom. When we speak God's word in our circumstances we allow God to fight our battles.

That is the result of faith in God's word. Arguing with your spouse over troubles is not going to defeat satan. Choosing discord as a response to trouble gives satan the victory over your life. You must learn to speak the word of God into your life until it becomes alive.

God's word is a living word and it has the power to overcome any trial.

  2. Continue to speak and memorize God's word. We may not always feel very strong in our battles but, we serve a living God who will fight for us.

Speaking His word and applying it to our lives on a daily basis will keep us under His protection.

You are creating a very wise habit, one that will help you to stand even in the face of trials.

    Be encouraged.
